ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Plans, organizes, administers and evaluates the College's Associate of Arts and some Associate of Science instructional programs, services and resources.
- Provides leadership for instructional staff of Arts & Sciences. Reviews and supervises the hiring of instructional, professional and career staff of the Arts & Sciences Division positions and participates in faculty evaluations, teaching observations and faculty mentoring and coaching.
- Coordinates with appropriate staff for instructional personnel action recommendations.
- Oversees staff development in instructional area to support personnel professional growth.
- Oversees curriculum development including those supporting the development of four-year degree programs.
- Develops annual Arts & Sciences instructional budget recommendations according to established procedures consistent with goals and objectives. Allocates, monitors and controls assigned program budgets and expenditures.
- Collaborates with Student Services, Distance Learning and Information Technology areas to ensure that information systems are appropriate for academic purposes and responsive to student and instructional needs.
- Establishes long-term academic-related goals and strategies and establishes community and business partnerships.
- Has a lead role in developing the Annual Academic Calendar.
- Develops and updates the Faculty/Adjunct Faculty Manual.
- Supports and communicates the College's mission and maintains professional affiliation and involvement in local, state and regional organizations. Keeps up-to-date with instructional services issues in community colleges.
- Coordinates and maintains appropriate academic credentials and instructional standards required for accreditation, and policy and procedure requirements of local, state, and federal agencies.
- Reviews and recommends changes to College policy and procedures in instructional area.
- Participates as a member of College Committees as assigned.
- Attends State and Federal Conferences as Assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution. Doctorate preferred.
- Three (3) years of successful experience as an administrator or supervisor in a community college or other post-secondary educational institution.
- Three (3) years teaching experience in a post-secondary educational institution.
- Knowledge of administrative and organizational skills required for effective management of personnel, programs, budgeting and reporting activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills in relation to faculty, staff, students and the public.
- Knowledge in developing and implementing instructional programs and services to meet community needs.
- Excellent decision making, conflict resolution, collaboration and facilitation skills, Commitment to a collaborative decision-making environment.
- Interest or demonstrated experience in the role of emerging technology in the instructional area.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and institutional strategic planning.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, regional accrediting bodies (SACS).
- Knowledge of post-secondary curriculum and operational activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic community with individuals of varied backgrounds.
- Ability to apply local, state, and federal regulations to College instructional programs.
- Knowledge of state and federal funding procedures and requirements.
- Knowledge in developing and implementing budgets.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
