Job description
Job description: The Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics has 12 faculty members and three academic professionals, including a number of recent hires. The department plays a key role in addressing economic issues that decision makers in the state and region face. The department's nationally recognized extension programs focus on using economic principles and analyses to assist decision makers at the family, firm, and community levels.

Description and Responsibilities:

This is a nine-month tenure-track position with 45% research, 35% extension/outreach, 15% teaching, and 5% university and professional service. Position responsibilities include developing research and extension programs in water resource economics as it relates to agriculture, community development, energy, and/or the environment. Teaching responsibilities generally will include teaching one course per year and mentoring graduate students. The ability to support and advance multidisciplinary research efforts with colleagues in the Colleges of Agriculture, Business, and Arts & Sciences, the Institute of Environment and Natural Resources, and the School of Energy Resources is essential. The potential to partner with colleagues at the new University of Wyoming-National Center for Atmospheric Research supercomputing center in Cheyenne, WY also exists. Pursuit of external grant funding, supervision of graduate students and research assistants, and publication of research results in refereed journals and outreach media will be required. Participation on committees at the department, college, university, and professional levels will fulfill the position's service component.
Req. candidate profile : Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or equivalent, with specialization in water resource economics.

Preferred:

Experience conducting water-related research at the firm and/or watershed level. Experience participating in multidisciplinary projects related to the sustainability of resource-based production systems.
