JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Government Sales is a high profile position both within Stryker and in the marketplace. As an integral member of our client’s Sales Leadership team.
Candidate will develop and execute all Government Sales strategies through the U.S. Recon and U.S. Trauma Sales Management team and the U.S. sales force.
In addition, will drive the organization to higher levels of overall sales performance, building strong, sustaining relationships with the surgeon community in the military, VA and other governmental sectors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
10-12 years increasing responsible experience in direct selling roles with 5+ years leading a sales management team.
3-5 experience in the design, development of successful targeted sales programs
Medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience required, government sales background preferred.
Demonstrated results orientation coupled with a track record of overachieving sales and financial goals (i.e. quota, A/R, expense budget and cost of sales)
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a larger sales team, utilizing available shared resources and influencing, government sales focus and results.
Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence sales leadership, surgeon customers, and internal organizations
Strong business, financial, analytical orientation
Superior communication skills including strong presentation skills
Strong vision and focus on where to take the business coupled with courage, drive and discipline to execute the plan
As a people leader, proven ability to drive high levels of engagement, to attract, engage and develop a sales team, demonstrated ability to use performance management to drive sales performance.
Personal talents of integrity, patience, follow-through skills and strategizer.
Ability to quickly recognize the situation and then influence and persuade with managerial courage
Demonstrated contract implementation experience
Create and communicate business plans
Previous military experience, or experience selling to Government Accounts
