Job description: Essential Duties:
  • Complete any duties assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Performs work in accordance to dealership and factory standards.
  • Performs work in a safe manner as outlined per the repair orders complaint lines.
  • Performs work in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Safely road tests vehicles to verify the repair is complete and complaint has been corrected.
  • Assist other technicians as needed.
  • Communicates with the parts department to obtain the parts needed for the repair.
  • Saves and tags all warranty parts needed for factory return.·
  • Examines all dispatched vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended per the supplied inspection form.
  • Communicates with the Service Advisor immediately if any additional work is needed, not needed, or if the work will not be completed by the time promised.
  • Participates in manufacturer sponsored training programs, schools, and events as required.
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and information.
  • Reports equipment/tooling defects or malfunctions to the Service Manager instantly.
  • Ensures the customers vehicles are kept clean.
  • Notifies the service Manager immediately of any damage to the vehicles appearance or functionality.
  • Maintains and is accountable for the safe use and proper care of all dealership owned tools, equipment or manuals.
  • Returns all tooling to its proper location.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to the Service Manager.
  • Transport customers to or from their place of business or home.
  • Pick up and/or deliver parts from /to other dealers or parts warehouses.
  • Pick up and deliver customer vehicles.
  • Ensure Truck Shop company vehicles are properly maintained, washed, and refueled when in need.
  • General building and work area upkeep and maintenance, including but not limited to taking out trash, keeping outside walkways free from snow and ice, sweeping and washing shop floors, cleaning benches, crushing oil filters, etc.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the truck shops operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Req. candidate profile : QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.·
  • A graduate of a technical college in the automotive repair field with it being a minimum of a one year program·
  • Hold and maintain a valid drivers license·
  • Must maintain condition of insurability through our current liability carrier ·
  • Individual must own their own tools/box to complete the variety of repairs asked of them·
  • Excellent communication skills and human relations skills·
  • Professional personal appearance and attitude·
  • Excellent organizational skills ·
  • Must have basic mathematical skills (must be able to add, subtract, and work with fractions and percentages)·
  • Computer knowledge
