Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.
Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers in order to grow significantly special events revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and work with volunteer leadership for multiple special events in the Metro Atlanta area
- Meet and exceed revenue goals by securing cash and in-kind sponsors for special events.
- Work with volunteers to generate additional revenue for events through table and ticket sales, auctions and additional night of event initiatives
- Uncover, develop and expand the volunteer leadership networks to benefit these events.
- Work with staff and volunteers to develop revenue growth plans based on market potential.
- Create cultivation plans and implement for all high dollar FTM and auction donors.
- Establish ancillary promotions with corporations interested in our target market.
- Research the competitive, successful, innovative events occurring in your market and begin a plan for the next big income boost for 2009.
- Work with program staff and volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission, programs, special services, and benefits for mothers and babies.
